CAP-XX Is Developing Supercapacitor With 30 Years Life

21st Dec 2015 13:07

LONDON (Alliance News) - CAP-XX Ltd said Monday it is in the process of developing a long-life supercapacitor as part of its ongoing research and development programme.

Experimentation to date suggests that such a battery could have an estimated life span of up to 30 years of continuing operation at 30 degrees Celsius, which is more than three times the current life of CAP-XX's current supercapacitor.

CAP-XX is undertaking further development work to improve operating windows for devices made with this technology, and also to modify its existing manufacturing lines to produce the product for market, it said.

It will continue work throughout 2016, with samples for customer evaluation expected to be delivered in the second half of 2016 and an official product launch in the middle of 2017.

Shares in CAP-XX were up 6.1% at 4.43 pence Monday afternoon.
