Canadian Overseas Petroleum touts consistent progress at Barron Flats

23rd May 2023 12:01

(Alliance News) - Canadian Overseas Petroleum Ltd on Tuesday said that progress remains on track at its Barron Flats Shannon oil production unit in Wyoming.

Canadian Overseas Petroleum is an international oil and gas exploration, production and development company, focused on operations in the Converse and Natrona counties in Wyoming, US.

Right-of-way access for the installation of the gas gathering system was cleared and crews mobilised to the site in late April. All eight-inch pipes have now been delivered to the site and strung alongside the right of way.

Construction is scheduled to take between two and three months, with Phase 1a budgeted at up to CAD4.5 million, around GBP2.7 million.

Planned wellsite facility upgrades moving forwards include installing high-pressure separators and high-pressure fire tubes for each separator.

"The GGS Phase 1a project is designed to connect our top producing wells in the Shannon (Miscible) flood and other wells proximate to the main GGS trunkline, alleviating pressure related issues, reducing flaring requirements and allowing our facilities to return produced gas back to the BFSU gas plant. We are pleased with the progress to date which is on time and on budget," said Chief Executive Officer Arthur Millholland.

Shares in Canadian Overseas Petroleum fell 3.2% to 4.84 pence each in London on Tuesday at midday.
