(Alliance News) - Cambridge Cognition Holdings PLC on Tuesday said it has won a contract for three phase II studies with a new undisclosed pharmaceutical client.
The AIM-listed neuroscience technology company said these studies - which have an aggregate value to the company of GBP1.4 million - are expected to demonstrate significant progress in combining the sale of CANTAB cognitive assessments with additional electronic clinical outcome assessments.
Contract delivery is expected to be over a two-year period, Cambridge Cognition noted.
The company said it will provide the pharmaceutical client with a single vendor solution for all three studies, managing the procurement of licences, device provision, CANTAB cognitive assessments, a centralised platform for data acquisition and storage, as well as trial management services.
The partners will additionally collaborate on the design and testing of a new cognitive task for use in clinics.
The studies will include a total of 180 patients, Cambridge Cognition said, with the overall objective being to track early cognitive changes and motor signals associated with the drug being delivered.
By delivering CANTAB cognitive assessments and electronic clinical outcome assessments questionnaires, the pharmaceutical client will be able to "sensitively, efficiently and securely" monitor clinical populations, the company said.
"This is the second partnership that has been secured on the strength of launching our enhanced electronic clinical outcome assessments solution in 2019; underlining the importance of continuing to invest in developing our digital solutions," said Cambridge Cognition Chief Executive Matthew Stork.
Cambridge Cognition shares were trading 5.1% higher in London on Tuesday at 20.60 pence each.
