Cambridge Cognition Signs Two New Licence Agreements

8th Oct 2015 07:14

LONDON (Alliance News) - Cambridge Cognition Holdings PLC on Thursday said it has signed two new licence agreements which will extend its testing capabilities into new areas of research and which will allow 'Hot' cognition to be performed reliably and routinely for the first time.

'Hot' cognition defines mental processes which are influenced by emotion and social interaction, the company said. It is a key feature of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative conditions where emotionally or socially-charged situations are difficult for individuals to process.

The first licence agreement covers four tests which have been developed alongside Universities of Cambridge and Manchester, University College London, and King's College London and the second licence agreement has been acquired by the company cover a mobile application created by University of Bristol researchers.

The application has the potential to treat behavioural issues like impairments on emotion processing and will train the user to become more sensitive to subtle facial cues of positive emotions and less sensitive to cues to negative emotions, Cambridge Cognition said.

Shares in Cambridge Cognition were untraded early Thursday, having last traded at 101.85 pence.
