9th Sep 2015 07:53

LONDON (Alliance News) - Cambridge Cognition Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it has filed a second patent application covering the field of systems and methods for assessing cognitive function.

The new patent application covers using wearable technology, smartphones and other consumer electronics for measuring cognitive function within people's homes.

Cambridge Cognition makes computerised neuropsychological tests, including ones used for the early detection of dementia.

"The unique technology around this patent allows the detection of cognitive impairments to be performed on a continuous basis, without time, expense or inconvenience for the subject or healthcare provider," said Chief Operating Officer Steven Powell.

Shares in Cambridge were untraded on Wednesday, having last traded at 82.30 pence.
