22nd Dec 2015 09:04

LONDON (Alliance News) - There will be a 48-hour strike by workers on the Caledonian Sleeper service between Scotland and London, after the Rail, Maritime and Transport Trade Union decided on industrial action.

The strike is set to begin on Tuesday night in a blow to Serco Group PLC, which is the service operator.

The industrial Action is proposed to take place from 1830 GMT on Tuesday until 1829 GMT on Thursday 24.

The dispute between Serco and the RMT union is over defects on trains, according to media reports.

Shares in Serco were up 0.4% at 96.95 pence on Tuesday morning.
