Cairn Homes Picks Morgan McKinley's Shane Doherty As New Finance Head

8th Jan 2020 09:59

(Alliance News) - Irish housebuilder Cairn Homes PLC on Wednesday announced the appointment of Morgan McKinley finance head Shane Doherty as its own chief financial officer.

Doherty will take up his role in April. He succeeds Tim Kenny, whose departure was first announced in July last year.

Cairn said Doherty has been CFO at staffing and resourcing firm Morgan McKinley since March 2018. Previously, he was finance head at green energy firm Gaelectric Holdings Ltd, and also previously led the finance operations in Europe of bookmaker Paddy Power, now Flutter Entertainment PLC.

"Following a comprehensive recruitment process, I am delighted Shane will be joining Cairn as CFO", said Cairn co-founder & Chief Executive Michael Stanley.

"Shane has in-depth experience in senior financial and business leadership roles across a range of sectors and I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to develop and grow the business in the years ahead. I would also like to thank Tim for the valuable contribution he has made to Cairn and to thank the finance team at Cairn for ensuring a seamless transition."

Cairn shares were 0.5% higher on Wednesday morning at a price of EUR1.31 each.

In September, the company declared its first ever shareholder returns, in the form of both a buyback and a dividend. Interim pretax profit more than doubled, and revenue rose 48%.
