LONDON (Alliance News) - Byotrol PLC said Thursday it has secured its first "mass market" retail trial in the US with discount retailer Target Corp for its surface sanitiser Byotrol24.
The trail will take place over 10 to 12 weeks and will start April in about 10% of Target's 1,829 stores.
Earlier this month Byotrol secured formal approval for sale of its germ-killing surface sanitiser product in all US states.
With the approval, the company said it is now able to sell the sanitiser, Byotrol24, in US retail, on-line and to institutional sellers.
The anti-microbial technology company said the product had been previously approved by the US Environment Protection Agency in June 2017.
Byotrol secured the first order for Byotrol24 for sale via a "professional" re-seller on Amazon.com.
Chief Executive David Traynor said: "This is really good news for Byotrol. Target Corporation is one of the leading general merchandise retailers in the US and is well-known for innovation and design; it is a perfect retail match for our brand and an excellent first step in pursuing our US commercialisation ambitions."
Shares in Byotrol were up 6.6% to 4.10 pence each Thursday.
