(Alliance News) - BWA Group PLC on Friday reported a significantly narrowed loss for the six months to December 31, and said it is evaluating results from its Dehane 1 mineral sands project in Cameroon.
The mining investor with licences in Cameroon and Canada said its pretax loss for the half-year was GBP5,276, narrowing from a GBP67,270 loss a year prior. Administrative expenses fell to GBP162,671 from GBP213,114, while other income was flat at GBP160,000.
BWA said the improvement was due in part to lower admin costs and steady income from other sources, helping to offset continued investment into exploration activities.
The company highlighted the operational impact of Director Peter Taylor, who joined the board in August and has since led exploration campaigns and represented BWA at industry events in Cape Town and Toronto.
Cash at hand rose to GBP55,238 at the end of the period, up from GBP45,138 on June 30, supported by a GBP450,000 share subscription during the period.
Shares in BWA were unchanged at 0.15 pence on the Aquis Stock Exchange on Friday afternoon.
