Bunzl Buys Two Companies In France And One In Denmark

22nd Nov 2016 07:46

LONDON (Alliance News) - Distribution and outsourcing company Bunzl PLC on Tuesday said it has acquired two companies in France and one in Denmark for an undisclosed amount.

The company has bought Prorisk and GM Equipement in France, both of which sell personal protection equipment and first aid-related products. The pair made a total of EUR7.0 million in revenue in 2015, and Bunzl expects to complete the purchase by January.

Bunzl has also acquired Danish firm Saebe Compagniet, a cleaning and hygiene products distributor. It made around GBP13.0 million in revenue in the year to the end of April 2016 and the deal will be subject to approval from Danish competition authorities.

"The purchase of Prorisk and GM Equipement will add further scale to our safety business in France and increase the breadth of our product offering in this important market. The proposed acquisition of Saebe Compagniet will complement our existing cleaning & hygiene operations in Denmark and extend and expand our business there," said Frank van Zanten, Bunzl's chief executive.
