LONDON (Alliance News) - BT Group PLC said Friday that Chelsea football club manager José Mourinho has signed a three-year deal with its BT Sport service to become a BT Sport ambassador.
Under the deal Mourinho will take on various roles at BT Sport, including making football programmes, acting as a football expert and giving a manager's perspective.
He will début with a BT Sport television advert airing for the first time on Saturday before the World Cup third-place play-off match between Brazil and the Netherlands.
"I?m looking forward to working with BT Sport. In their first year they have shown they are not afraid to challenge, are open to new ideas, and want to do things differently. This is the kind of team and ambition that I want to work with," Mourinho said in a statement.
Shares in BT were trading up 1.1% at 385.50 pence Friday morning.
