BT Signs New Services Contract To Support NATO's Global Operations

8th Apr 2019 14:52

LONDON (Alliance News) - BT Group PLC on Monday said it is expanding the range of services it provides to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to support its global operations.

The FTSE 100-listed telecommunications company said it connects more than 70 NATO locations internationally, including sites spread across the Alliance's 29 member countries. Adding BT's network support services to the agency enables NATO to roll our new solutions within the environment it operates in, BT said.

The contract follows the signing of a new, three-year agreement with NATO's Communications & Information Agency for support services valued at EUR5.9 million.

"Digital transformation is a strategic driver for multinational organisations," said BT Head of Global Services unit Bas Burger.

"Like many of our global customers, NATO faces a dynamic operational landscape and looks to harness the latest digital tools and technologies to enhance its performance. With our global secure network and expertise as a trusted supplier to governments, international agencies and multinationals, BT is well placed to support NATO in an increasingly digital world," added Burger.

BT shares were trading 0.2% lower on Monday afternoon at 223.52 pence each.
