LONDON (Alliance News) - Burberry Group PLC said Thursday that Jeremy Darroch, chief executive of British Sky Broadcasting PLC, has joined its board as a non-executive director and a member of its audit, remuneration and nomination committees.

Darroch, in addition to his current role at BSkyB, also previously worked as finance director of Dixons Group PLC and worked for 12 years at Proctor & Gamble Company. Darroch has previously served as a non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of Marks and Spencer Group PlC.

"We are delighted to welcome Jeremy to the Board. Burberry Chief Executive Officer Angela Ahrendts is soon due to depart for Apple Inc and hand over to Christopher Bailey.

Shares in Burberry were trading up 0.4% at 1,448.00 pence Thursday morning.
