LONDON (Alliance News) - The Brunner Investment Trust PLC Tuesday said will increase its interim dividend despite underperforming its benchmark in the six months to May 31.
The trust said its net asset value total return over the period was 4.1%, while its benchmark was 4.4%.
The company's benchmark is 50% FTSE All-Share and 50% FTSE World Index.
It said earnings decreased to 7.8 pence per share during the period, from 8.6%, reflecting in part lower income from investment which was impacted by the strength of sterling and fewer special dividends received from portfolio companies during this period.
Despite the fall, Brunner increased its interim dividend to 6.1 pence from 6.0 pence a year earlier.
Brunner Investment shares were quoted up 1.7% at 538.00 pence Tuesday afternoon.
