LONDON (Alliance News) - British Smaller Cos VCT2 PLC on Friday reported a single-digit rise in net asset value in 2018, while the dividend remained unchanged.
The stock was trading 4.7% higher on Friday at 52.91 pence a share.
The investment company said its portfolio delivered a strong performance over the year, resulting in net asset value per share of 59.9p at the end of 2018, up 7.0% from 58.8p a year earlier.
During the year the company has completed investments totalling GBP5.65 million comprising four new investments and three follow-on investments.
British Smaller Cos VCT2 declared a final dividend of 1.5 pence per share, taking the total payout for the year to 3.0p, unchanged year-on-year. In addition, the company paid a special dividend of 5.0p per share.
"The board believes that the UK's withdrawal from the EU will have minimal direct effect on the portfolio, but it would not be immune to any worsening in the overall economic environment that this may cause," said Chair Richard Last.
