British Land Moves Pension Insurer Into "Cheesegrater"

LONDON (Alliance News) - British Land PLC Thursday said it has signed a lease with specialist pension insurer Rothesay Life for level 25 at The Leadenhall Building, dubbed the Cheesegrater.

British Land signed the deal in partnership with Oxford Properties, the building's co-developer.

Level 25 provides 13,594 square feet of space, and Rothesay Life will take a 10-year lease with an option to break after five years. The company did not state how much Rothesay will pay in annual rent.

The Leadenhall Building, which comprises 610,000 square feet of office space, is now 53% let. It opposite the Lloyd's of London headquarters in the City of London.

British Land shares were quoted down 0.6% at 724.50 pence Thursday morning.
