British Empire Securities & General Trust NAV Rises In First-Half

LONDON (Alliance News) - British Empire Securities & General Trust PLC Friday said its net asset value per share in the first half of the year ended March 31 rose 2.7% to 566.73 pence, up from 551.97 pence a year earlier.

During the half-year to March 31, the net asset value of the company's shares rose by 4.8% on a total return basis, outperforming the benchmark.

The trust maintained its interim dividend at 2.00 pence per share.

"We see evidence that investors are becoming more interested in our type of companies... The pick up in corporate activity is another positive feature of the current market environment," the company said in a statement.

Shares in the trust closed trading Friday flat at 503 pence.
