Brickability hikes dividend as profit falls despite increased revenue

(Alliance News) - Brickability Group PLC on Tuesday reported increased revenue but a lower profit for 2025 as it increased its dividend for the year.

The Bridgend, Wales-based construction materials distributor said pretax profit fell 45% to GBP11.7 million in the twelve months to the end of March from GBP21.4 million a year ago.

However, revenue was 7.2% higher at GBP637.1 million from GBP594.1 million. Cost of sales increased 5.6% to GBP515.4 million from GBP488.2 million.

Brickability faced a fair value loss of GBP1.2 million, swung from a gain of GBP6.4 million in the prior year. The impairment losses on financial assets multiplied to GBP7.5 million from GBP1.6 million while finance expenses increased 39% to GBP9.6 million from GBP7.0 million.

Administrative expenses also climbed 9.8% to GBP92.2 million from GBP84.0 million.

Brickability said increased revenue reflected the success of its diversification strategy.

The company declared a final dividend of 2.39 pence per share, up 4.8% from 2.28p a year ago. The total dividend for the year was also up 4.8% to 3.51p from 3.35p.

Looking ahead, Brickability said trading in the current financial year is in line with management expectations.

"The group delivered a solid performance in the period, with recent acquisitions contributing to the group's diversification and resilience, enabling profit upgrades during the second half. The new financial year has started well, with the group delivering year-on-year organic growth, and trading in line with management expectations," said Chief Executive Officer Frank Hannah.

"The board remains confident in delivering further progress in the financial year ahead. Our product mix and leading market positions ensure that Brickability is strongly positioned for the short, medium, and long term. In addition, we continue to evaluate potential earnings accretive acquisitions."

Shares in Brickability were up 2.0% at 62.20 pence in London on Tuesday morning.
