Breedon Southern Ltd has bought the 'mini-mix' concrete operator for an undisclosed amount.
The company said Staffs Concrete will complement existing mini-mix operations, and will draw material from Breedon's ready-mixed concrete plants and extend its reach north of
Staffs Concrete, it said, operates eight mixer trucks and two concrete pumps, specialising in the delivery of small loads of ready-mix concrete and screeds up to six cubic metres.
Breedon Southern Chief Executive Mike Pearce said: "Staffs Concrete is exactly the kind of bolt-on acquisition we're looking for.
"It has a great reputation, with a really committed team and a loyal customer base. It further strengthens our overall position in a key market for us and will enable us to provide our existing customers with an exciting new product and service offer."
