LONDON (Alliance News) - Breedon Aggregates Ltd on Monday said it has won a GBP10.0 million contract to supply ready-mixed concrete and asphalt to the GBP35.0 million first stage of a road project to turn the A9 in Scotland into a dual carriageway.
The five-mile stretch of the A9 will incorporate five new structures, a number of side roads and access to local estates. It is the first stage of a GBP3.0 billion project to widen 80 miles of single carriageway between Inverness and Perth into dual carriageway by 2025.
"This contract underpins our order book for the current year and secures a significant amount of work for our Meadowside quarry over the next 12-18 months," said Alan Mackenzie, Breedon's Scotland chief executive.
Shares in Breedon were up 1.4% to 68.30 pence.
