LONDON (Alliance News) - Breedon Aggregates PLC on Thursday said it and partner Whitemountain have been awarded a contract worth up to GBP55.0 million to supply and lay asphalt on the GBP745.0 million Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route road project.
The joint venture between Breedon and Whitemountain will jointly supply and lay more than 500,000 tonnes of asphalt material under the contract.
The 116-kilometre project is one of the longest road construction projects currently underway in the UK.
"This is our largest-ever contract award and will provide the backbone of work for our contracting division over the next two years. Importantly, the two mobile plants will mean we're self-sufficient on-site," said Breedon Aggregates Scotland Chief Executive Alan Mackenzie.
