(Alliance News) - Cybersecurity solutions provider BrandShield Systems PLC on Tuesday said it has completed a contract with an unnamed customer in the personal care industry.
This has added to the growing number of customers in that industry that have subscribed to BrandShield's threat hunting service in 2021.
The customer is one of a fast growing number of small and medium enterprises who are identifying the need to source online brand protection solutions as they seek to grow through social media channels such as TikTok and Instagram.
A huge amount of early-stage brands rely on exposure from social media networks to raise brand awareness. Consequently, they become most at risk from fraudulent activity seeking to divert customers to counterfeit products or impersonation presences.
"BrandShield has a unique capability using clustering technologies, networks detection and big data analysis to trace the money trail of these counterfeiters from the promotional activity they perform in the social media environment to the sale on an online marketplace," said Chief Executive Yoav Karen.
Shares in Brandshield remained flat at 17.00 pence on Tuesday in London.
