LONDON (Alliance News) - Brammer PLC said Thursday that it has begun a consultation with its UK staff over the proposed consolidation of operations at its Coventry distribution centre into its Wolverhampton distribution centre and Wythenshawe offices.
It has proposed the closure of the Coventry site by the end of the summer.
Brammer said that the consolidation would allow it to better use the spare capacity and highly automated warehouse systems at the Wolverhampton centre, and cut activities that are currently duplicated at the Coventry site.
It will also allow it to consolidate all of its UK finance and administration activities at Wythenshawe to further improve customer service and operational efficiency, it said.
Shares in Brammer were trading up 0.3% at 472.25 pence Thursday afternoon.
