Braemar Shipping Investor Revolt Against CEO Reappointment

4th Jul 2019 13:36

(Alliance News) - Braemar Shipping Services PLC said Thursday it saw considerable opposition for several resolutions at its annual general meeting on Wednesday.

At the meeting, 26% of shareholders voted against the reappointment of Chief Executive Officer James Kidwell, while another 24% voted against granting the company authority to disapply pre-emption rights.

Despite the opposition, all resolutions proposed were passed.

Braemar said it will look to engage with shareholders in relation to the resolutions that received considerable opposition.

Prior to the meeting on Wednesday, Braemar said that trading in the quarter to the end of May was in line with management expectations, giving a positive outlook for the rest of its current financial year.

Shares in the port and shipbroking services provider were down 3.1% at 175.80 pence on Thursday.
