(Alliance News) - Bradda Head Lithium Ltd on Thursday said it has mobilised its drill rig for its phase 3 drill programme at the San Domingo project in Arizona, US.
The US-focused lithium exploration company noted that the programme is its second large-scale drilling programme conducted in less than a year at San Domingo, which it said underscores its commitment to "exploring and unlocking the potential of our [23 square kilometre] land package within this highly prospective pegmatite district."
The company completed the first two phases of drilling in March this year, with its best intercept at 1.6% lithium oxide over 31.8 metres at the Midnight Owl prospect. The third phase of drilling will look to extend this area of known mineralisation.
The firm said it has identified multiple high-priority targets ahead of the programme, and adds that the drill programme is intended to delineate the first shallow and potentially open pitable lithium resource at San Domingo.
Chief Executive Charles FitzRoy said: "We are thrilled to initiate the Phase 3 drilling programme at San Domingo, building on the successes of our previous phases and leveraging the valuable insights gained from our geologists' groundwork. The aim of this programme is to delineate the first resource at San Domingo, and we are confident in the project's potential to contribute significantly to the developing battery supply chain in the Western US.
"San Domingo's rich history of lithium mining, combined with the positive results from the first two drilling phases, has only increased our enthusiasm and confidence in the project's potential. We remain committed to conducting responsible exploration and maximizing the value of this valuable asset."
Bradda Head shares rose 5.5% to 4.22 pence each on Thursday afternoon in London.
