Bradda Head identifies high grade lithium oxide at San Domingo project

6th Feb 2023 12:22

(Alliance News) - Bradda Head Lithium Ltd on Monday said initial drilling results show multiple high-grade lithium bearing minerals at its San Domingo project in the US state of Arizona.

The North America-focused lithium development group said diamond drilling at its 23 square kilometre pegmatite district in San Domingo, Arizona, has intersected 32 meters at 1.6% lithium oxide, including 3.2 metres at 3.7% lithium oxide.

The drilling programme also identified 9.8 metres at 0.8% lithium oxide and 4.3 metres at 1.86% lithium oxide.

The company said 5,700 metres of a planned 7,000 metres had been drilled, with 36 holes completed so far, with lithium bearing minerals having been identified in about 75% of the holes drilled to date.

Drilling is expected to be completed by the end of February.

Due to the success of the first phase drilling campaign, Bradda Head said it has begun a detailed soil survey, which is set to be completed in early March.

Bradda Head said a shallow open pit mining approach "seems the route to follow", with the first phase drilling programme having identified positive lithium intersections at shallow depths.

Chief Executive Officer Charles FitzRoy commented: "These results are encouraging and set the scene for what we believe has the potential to define a world class lithium pegmatite district in Arizona, near vital infrastructure and battery end-users within the US and the wider developing North American battery hub.

"The US is investing USD135 billion in its EV and critical minerals supply chain, all Bradda's assets are located in the US for the US market, these results are therefore extremely supportive of our business model."

All results are expected to be received by the end of the first half of 2023.

Bradda Head shares were down 7.0% at 6.74 pence per share on Monday afternoon in London.
