LONDON (Alliance News) - Oil company BP PLC said Helge Lund, who is slated to takeover as chairman, has joined the company's board on Thursday.
The company in April said Lund would join the board as a non-executive director on September 1 and become chairman at the start of 2019, when current Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg steps down.
Lund has been able now to join the board earlier, and BP said this will not affect the timing of his succession to chairman, adding former General Electric Co executive Pamela Daley has also joined as a non-executive director.
Daley has spent most of her career with the General Electric, holding roles including senior advisor to the chairman and senior vice president of corporate business development. She currently is a director of BlackRock, Inc and SecureWorks Inc.
Shares in BP were trading 0.6% higher at 164.00 pence each.
