LONDON (Alliance News) - AIM listed lottery, software, gaming and leisure company Boxhill Technologies PLC Tuesday posted a swing to a pretax profit in its first half, and reiterated expectations to at least double its revenue for the full year.
For the half year to end-January Boxhill posted a pretax profit of GBP298,000, swung from a pretax loss of GBP139,000 a year before, on a rise in revenue to GBP1.1 million from GBP849,000.
Boxhill operates the Weather Lottery, and also owns Soccerdome Ltd, a football complex in Nottingham that is due to reopen this summer.
The company attributed its improved performance to continued and steady growth in customers in its payments business, and "prudent control of costs across all areas."
Shares in Boxhill rose 20% on the news to 0.120 pence Tuesday afternoon.
