Boxhill Focused On Building Revenues, Half-Year Loss Widens

30th Apr 2014 14:39

LONDON (Alliance News) - Boxhill Technologies PLC said Wednesday it remains focused on continuing to build e-commerce revenues and rolling out new services, as it posted a widened pretax loss for the half-year to end-January, hit by higher costs and the sale of its Devilfish Poker business.

The company posted a pretax loss of GBP128,000, widened from GBP88,000 in the previous year, as revenue rose to GBP1.6 million from GBP483,000 in the previous year, as this was offset by higher sales costs and administrative expenses.

Boxhill, formerly the Weather Lottery PLC, was hit by a one off loss of GBP57,000 related to its disposal of Devilfish Poker.

Its e-commerce divisions, Pay Corporation Ltd and Poseve Ltd performed in line with expectations, Boxhill said. Prize Porivision Service Ltd, which operates the Weather Lottery business, improved from the previous year.

The company is continuing to develop its sports centre site at Nottingham in its Soccerdome Ltd business, however, this business made a loss in the half-year.

Shares in Boxhill were trading up 6.5% at 0.160 pence Wednesday afternoon.
