Bowleven Updates On Bomono Permit And Kenya Block Progress

4th Mar 2015 09:57

LONDON (Alliance News) - Africa-focused oil and gas explorer Bowleven PLC on Wednesday said progress is being made at its Bomono permit in Cameroon and said its partner at a Kenya block is seeking an extension to its licence to continue surveys and testing.

Bowleven said the rig and drilling systems for the Zingana well at the Bomono Permit have been assembled, though it added routine checks found some mechanical and control issues that will have to be addressed before drilling operations start.

The company also said Adamantine, the operator on the Block 11B prospect in Kenya, has said it has applied to Kenyan authorities for a 15-month extension to the licence to allow the acquisition, processing and valuation of 2D seismic data.

Seismic operations have been delayed at the site by logistical issues, including security concerns.

Shares in Bowleven were down 0.4% to 31.375 pence on Wednesday.
