Botswana Diamonds Shares Up As It Finds Bulk Sampling Target

28th Feb 2019 13:55

LONDON (Alliance News) - Botswana Diamonds PLC on Thursday said it has identified a sampling target at the Thorny River project in South Africa's Limpopo province.

Shares were 10% higher on Thursday at a price of 0.82 pence each.

Botswana has completed 18 drill holes on the Hartbeesfontein farm, finding kimberlite, a diamond ore, in 12 of them.

It has found a one and a half kilometre kimberlite fissure intersection suitable for bulk sampling.

The company has now started drilling at the Frischgewaagt farm, with three holes drilling so far which all found kimberlite. One hole found a four and a half metre intersection, the thickest so far.

The purpose of the drilling, Botswana said, is to enable the firm to carry out detailed planning for a bulk sampling programme, which will start once it has approvals from regulators and finished drilling.
