Botswana Diamonds Says Work Ongoing On Orapa, Gope Projects

LONDON (Alliance News) - Botswana Diamonds PLC on Thursday said it has continued to make progress on its diamond mining campaign with partner Alrosa, the Russian diamond miner.

At the Orapa project, Botswana said heavy concentrate sampling has taken place and the washing of the heavy concentrate samples has been completed. Drilling is due to start on the PL 210 licence area at the project in May.

Drilling has already started on the PL 260 area, the company said. Diamond drilling has been completed on the licence and reverse circulation drilling and sampling will continue into May, the company said.

At the Gope project, Botswana said work is ongoing on heavy concentrate sampling and washing of those heavy concentrates.

Shares in the company were up 18% to 1.74 pence following the announcement.
