Botswana Diamonds Says Report Highlights Targets On Orapa Licence

13th Aug 2014 08:52

LONDON (Alliance News) - Botswana Diamonds PLC said Wednesday that a geological report on its prospecting licence PL/117 in the Orapa area of Botswana highlighted targets on the licence.

The report identified four previously unknown mineralogical anomalies, Botswana said, of which two also had "strong geophysical signatures".

It has identified drill sites for two holes on the anomaly AN117/2, which has strong geophysical and kimberlite indicator mineral results. It will do more work in September to pinpoint the best drill location on the second anomaly AN117/1.

Two further anomalies are thought to be kimberlite dykes or veinlets, Botswana said, and will not be drilled at this time.

Botswana said that analysis of material on its prospecting licence PL/206 suggests that primary sources of diamonds can exist on the block. It will do further ground work on this licence in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Shares in Botswana were trading up 5.5% at 2.77 pence Wednesday morning.
