(Alliance News) - Botswana Diamonds PLC on Monday said it has recovered 11 promising gems at the Thorny River asset in South Africa.
Botswana Diamonds said "11 diamonds and abundant kimberlitic indicators" were recovered. Kimberlite is a rock which often contains diamonds.
"The recovery of so many kimberlitic indicators and in particular diamonds, which are very rare to recover in small sample narrow reverse circulation drill holes is highly encouraging and bodes well for the potential commerciality of this exciting discovery," Chair John Teeling said.
Botswana Diamonds shares were flat at 0.85 pence each in London on Monday morning. Earlier in the session, they were 11% higher at 0.94p.
