Boku Teams Up With Swisscom To Offer Identity Platform In Switzerland

28th Nov 2019 11:23

(Alliance News) - Payments technology firm Boku Inc has agreed a partnership with Swiss telecommunications firm Swisscom AG, it said on Thursday.

The deal will see Swisscom connect to Boku's global identity platform, enabling Bern-headquartered Swisscom's six million mobile subscribers in Switzerland to experience "silent, frictionless" verification and authentication, Boku said.

San Francisco-based Boku said the partnership is part of a wider trend of mobile network operators recognising mobile phones are becoming the primary device on which consumers interact with businesses.

Stuart Neal, the chief business officer of Boku Identity, commented: "This agreement will see us continue to build on our strong relationship with Swisscom. Consumers are constantly looking for easier frictionless ways to securely interact on mobile.

"For Swisscom, it will deepen their relationship with their customers by enabling them to interact and transact in a natural and convenient way. This is another endorsement of Boku's strategy to touch every mobile interaction."

Boku shares were 0.6% lower on Thursday morning in London at a price of 86.00 pence each.
