22nd Sep 2015 08:21

LONDON (Alliance News) - Zambia-focused mineral processing company BMR Mining PLC on Tuesday said a peer review conducted on its Kabwe treatment project has confirmed the suitability of its methodology.

BMR said the peer review found the company's acid/brine leach process for recovering lead and zinc was a suitable method.

The company is currently finalising both its processing plans and its cost plans for the project, which is hopes will come into operation in 2016.

"We are delighted to report that the peer review has confirmed the suitability of our proposed methodology for the processing of the tailings, which will be applied initially to the Wash Plant Tailings once we secure ZEMA approval," said Alex Borrelli, BMR's executive chairman.

Shares in BMR were down 7.4% to 4.05 pence on Tuesday morning.
