BlueRock Shares Jump As Recovers Second Diamond Over 20 Carats

27th Sep 2019 13:22

(Alliance News) - BlueRock Diamonds PLC on Friday said it has recovered a 20.72 carat stone of gem quality.

The AIM-listed diamond mining company said this is the second stone recovered from Kareevlei mine in the Kimberley region of South Africa in excess of 20 carats.

The previous stone was 24.98 carats and sold for USD190,000. The sale price of the current stone will be announced following the completion of the October tender, BlueRock said.

"I am highly encouraged by the recovery of yet another significant stone which is of a similar quality to a number of other larger stones that we have recovered recently," said Executive Chair Mike Houston.

"I look forward to updating the market on the sale price following the completion of the October tender," added Houston.

BlueRock shares were trading 19% higher in London on Friday at 150.00 pence each.
