(Alliance News) - BlueRock Diamonds PLC on Monday said it has sold the 20.72 carat diamond announced in September for USD236,000, or USD11,389 per carat, in the October tender.
The diamond miner, which owns and operates the Kareevlei diamond mine in the Kimberley region of South Africa, said the sale value is the highest achieved for the mine to date for a single stone. The previous record sale was the 24.8 carat stone sold in June for USD190,000, or USD7,862 per carat.
BlueRock Diamonds shares were down 2.9% at 116.98 pence each in London on Monday.
