(Alliance News) - BlueRock Diamonds PLC said Friday it has sold its largest diamond recovered to date at an auction price of USD190,000.
On Friday last week, the diamond producer recovered the 24.98 carat gem at its Kareevlei diamond mine in the Kimberley region of South Africa.
"We continue to make excellent progress implementing our development strategy to increase production and are clearly seeing the impact of higher throughput being achieved reflected in the number of high value stones we continue to produce. To this end, I look forward to providing a more detailed update in our quarterly production report, which is expected to be announced in early July," said Executive Chair Mike Houston.
Shares in BlueRock Diamonds were up 2.7% at 0.11 pence on Friday.
