Bluejay Mining Secures 2 New Exploration Licences In Greenland

15th Apr 2020 18:26

(Alliance News) - Bluejay Mining PLC on Wednesday said that it has been awarded two new exploration licences in Greenland by the country's mineral licence department.

The exploration company has been awarded MEL 2020/03 and 2020/22 licences, which total 2,025 square kilometres, in south Greenland.

The licences, which will be known as Thunderstone project, is highly prospective for several commodities, including gold, base metals and uranium, Bluejay said.

CEO Roderick McIllree said: "We are delighted to have been granted these two highly prospective licence areas, further building on our highly strategic portfolio and consolidating our leading position in Greenland's emerging mineral sector. Historical work at Thunderstone by the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland underpins its potential to host several commodities, including zinc, gold and uranium; with this in mind, it is a fantastic addition to our already exciting project portfolio in our country of expertise and with minimal initial holding costs".

Shares in Bluejay closed 1.5% at 3.80 pence each in London on Wednesday.
