Bluefield Solar Income Increases Dividend As Net Asset Value Rises

LONDON (Alliance News) - Bluefield Solar Income Fund Ltd Thursday reported a rise in net asset value for the year to end-June, as it increased its total dividend.

It reported a total return, based on an increase in net asset value per share to 103.58 pence from 102.96 pence and dividends paid for the year, of 6.67%.

Bluefield proposed a fourth interim dividend of 1.50 pence, taking its total dividend to 7.25 pence for the year, compared to 4.00 pence a year before. It had been targeting a dividend of 7 pence. It reiterated its objective to increase its target dividend by the retail price index in the coming years.

The fund raised GBP131 million in November of last year, which has since been fully committed to investing in solar assets. It has increased its portfolio of assets to 29 from 12.

Bluefield noted that it is participating in market that is experiencing high growth, however it does not expects it high activity level of lessen in the coming months as solar contractors seek to install new capacity ahead of regulatory changes in 2016.

Shares in Bluefield were up 0.1% at 102.88 pence Thursday morning.
