LONDON (Alliance News) - BlackRock World Mining Trust PLC on Tuesday said Chair Ian
Cockerill intends to retire and will not seek re-election at the company's upcoming annual general meeting.
Cockerill, who departs after the AGM on May 2, has been a director at the mining and metal asset investor since November 2013 and was made chair in April 2016. The search for his successor has already begun.
BlackRock World Mining noted that Cockerill's departure follows his appointment as an independent non-executive director at blue-chip miner BHP Group PLC.
Shares in BlackRock World Mining were up 0.7% at 362.42 pence on Tuesday.
