LONDON (Alliance News) - BlackRock Latin American Investment Trust PLC Wednesday said it outperformed the MSCI EM Latin America Index in the first three months of the year, but underperformed it slightly amidst an upturn in March.
The trust, which targets long-term capital growth and an attractive total return by investing in quoted securities in Latin America, said its net asset value on a total return basis including income fell by 0.1% in the first three months of 2014. However, in March, it went up by 8.2%.
Over March, the MSCI EM Latin America Index increased by 9.4%. Across the entire three months it fell by 0.3%.
The trust is managed by Will Landers of BlackRock Investment Management.
The trust's shares were Wednesday quoted at 449.75 pence, down 0.1%.
