LONDON (Alliance News) - Waste management company Biffa PLC said Thursday it has hired Richard Pike to be the company's new chief financial officer.
Pike will join the board as an executive director on September 10, then take up his chief financial officer role September 29.
Pike was most recently CFO of Boparan Holdings Ltd, a Birmingham based food manufacturer. Before that he was CFO and managing director of Associated British Foods PLC.
After qualifying as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers he had finance roles at Scapa Group PLC, Pilkington PLC, and Manchester Airports Group PLC.
Michael Topham, Biffa's current CFO, will take over as chief executive officer the same day Pike moves into the CFO role.
Current Chief Executive Officer Ian Wakelin will step down from the board and leave the company September 28.
Chief Financial Officer & Chief Executive Officer designate Topham said: "Richard comes with a proven track record of strong operational performance and strategic execution across many industries.
"I look forward to welcoming him to Biffa and to working with him as we continue to deliver our established strategy"
Shares in Biffa were flat Thursday at 236.50 each.
