(Alliance News) - BHP Group PLC said Wednesday it has appointed Gary Goldberg as non-Executive director with effect on February 1, 2020.
The miner said that Goldberg's appointment reflected the group's commitment to a "structured and rigorous approach" to its board succession planning, including conducting global searches.
Goldberg's most recent executive role was as chief executive officer of US mining firm Newmont Goldcorp for six years from 2013 to 2019. He stepped down from the role in October.
"Gary is an excellent addition to our board. His deep mining experience and strong track record working in global executive roles will help ensure we have the right balance of attributes, skills and experience necessary for the board to govern BHP effectively," said Chair Ken MacKenzie.
