LONDON (Alliance News) - Berkeley Resources Ltd said Thursday it continued to advance its Salamanca project in Spain during the quarter to the end of June.
It was granted a mining licence for the Retortillo deposit, which is valid for an initial 30 years. As a result of this grant, it can now finalise the approval processes associated to its other key permits.
It began a definitive feasibility study at the Salamanca project, focusing on the integrated development of the Retortillo and Alameda deposits.
It said its 2014 drilling programme at Zona 7 is nearing completion. The programme, consisting of around 2,750 metres of reverse circulation and 300 metres of diamond core drilling, is aimed at infilling the zone of mineralisation delineated by the previous year's drilling and expanding it further to the south-west.
Shares in Berkeley were trading up 7.2% at 16.62 pence Thursday afternoon.
