Berkeley Energia Starts Exploration Programme On Salamanca Targets

16th Feb 2016 09:15

LONDON (Alliance News) - Berkeley Energia Ltd on Tuesday said the first phase of an exploration programme at its Salamanca project in Spain has started to target further uranium deposits similar to its Zona 7 finds.

A geological review identified 11 new targets with the potential to host the kind of mineralisation seen at Zona 7 and the exploration programme will focus on these prospects.

Drilling on the first target has started, with the rest to follow over the next few months, Berkeley Energia said.

"This major exploration programme has commenced testing eleven near-surface exploration targets all located within ten kilometres of the plant and if successful has the potential to add significant scale and mine life to this already exceptional project," said Paul Atherley, Berkeley Energia's managing director.

Shares in Berkeley Energia were up 2.7% to 22.85 pence on Tuesday.
