LONDON (Alliance News) - Beowulf Mining PLC Friday said it has promoted Senior Non Executive Director Bevan Metcalf as the company's new non-executive chairman.
The miner said Metcalf has been effectively performing the chairman role for the last six months since he joined the board in September 2014.
"Bevan has played a central role in the company's transition, including the management and corporate changes that have been implemented. Through these restructuring efforts, Beowulf has re-established itself, strengthened its financial controls and governance procedures, whilst the management team has re-focused the company's strategy and aligned its interests with the interests of shareholders," said Beowulf.
Beowulf has also appointed Liam O'Donoghue as its company secretary. O'Donoghue is a qualified corporate lawyer and director of the AIM specialist advisory and administration firm CMS Advisory Group Ltd.
"To support our broader ambitions for Beowulf and the execution of the Company's strategy, it is now time to consider strengthening the Board, and with Bevan at the helm we are seeking a Non-Executive Director with the requisite skills and experience to complement the management team," said Chief Executive Kurt Budge.
Beowulf shares were untraded on Friday morning, last trading at 1.34 pence per share.
