BATM Upgrades Carrier Ethernet Network For Kenya Education Network

16th Jan 2019 11:52

LONDON (Alliance News) - Real time technologies provider BATM Advanced Communications Ltd on Wednesday said it has completed an upgrade of the Carrier Ethernet Network of Kenya Education Network Trust to 100 gigabit ethernet from 10 gigabit.

Kenya Education Network is the National Research and Education Network of Kenya, which provide internet access and data centre services to university campuses and research facilities in the country.

In 2016, BATM supplied Kenya Education Network with its 10 gigabit ethernet Carrier Ethernet Network through Telco Systems, which is part of BATM's Netowrking & Cyber division.

The upgrade will improve the network's quality of existing services, as well as offer additional services and meet the growing bandwidth requirements of its clients.

"We are pleased to have delivered this network upgrade in Kenya, which will improve the IT infrastructure of education institutions throughout the country. Our Carrier Ethernet portfolio provides the foundation on which our Networking business is built, and we continue to strengthen this base by developing industry-leading solutions that we are providing to clients worldwide," said Chief Executive Officer Zvi Marom.

Shares in BATM Advanced Communications were up 0.5% at 47.24 pence on Wednesday.
