LONDON (Alliance News) - A group of Baronsmead venture capital trusts, encompassing Baronsmead VCT PLC, Baronsmead VCT 2 PLC , Baronsmead VCT 3 and Baronsmead VCT 4, and Baronsmead VCT 5 said Friday that they had seen a rise in net asset value per share in the quarter and half year to end-June.
Baronsmead VCT saw a total return on net asset value per share of 0.14% in the quarter, whilst Baronsmead VCT 2 saw a total return of 0.4%.
Baronsmead VCT realised GBP1.1 million from the sale of investments in three quoted companies, and invested GBP400,000 in four companies during the period.
Baronsmead VCT 2 realised GBP1.8 million from the sale of investments in four quoted companies, and invested GBP400,000 in one new and three follow on investments.
Baronsmead VCT 3 posted a 4.2% increase in net asset value per share to 118.15 pence in the half year to end June. It proposed an interim dividend of 8.0 pence. It made investments of GBP1.8 million during the period. The trust cited a recovery in the UK economy, and said that "this improvement in the economic environment in which our investee companies operate is to be welcomed."
Baronsmead VCT 4 saw net asset value rise 3.7% during the half year to 103.76 pence. It made investments of GBP1.8 million in 3 new and 5 follow on investments.
Baronsmead VCT 5 saw net asset value rise 9.2% to 83.22 pence per share in the half year. It proposed an in interim dividend of 2.0 pence. It made GBP800,000 of investments.
None of the trusts were traded Friday. Baronsmead VCT last closed at 74.53 pence. Baronsmead VCT 2 last closed at 97.00 pence. Baronsmead VCT 3 last closed at 104.25 pence, down 0.7%. Baronsmead VCT 4 last closed at 92.00 pence. Baronsmead VCT 5 last closed at 77.01 pence.
